Très joli feuillage noir brillant, devenant vert olive foncé, pour ce cultivar commercialisé par Barclay-Griffiths (105 Ramapoo Road, Ridgefield) depuis 2001 et qui se plait bien sur le mur végétal, aussi bien qu’en potées.
Plus la plante est à l’ombre, et plus le feuillage est noir. Floraison orange vermillon en avril-mai.
Culture facile, observer une période de repos en hiver.
Multiplication par bouture de rhizome, ou de feuilles pétiolées.
